4 easy tips when choosing what to wear for your senior session

Tip # 1

Keep it simple & keep it you!

  • Find something solid colored.
  • Find something patterned.

Find something that captures who you are and what you really enjoy at this stage in life. Show off your personality. (art, sports, music or fav band t-shirt, etc.)

  • An elevated look from your normal every day.

Tip #2

Be Comfortable!

Make sure you’re comfortable in your clothes, and true to who you are. These photos are meant to reflect this huge milestone in your life and to capture who you are, right now. Make sure you can sit, stand, and squat in your outfit. This will help you feel more relaxed and at ease during your session.

Tip # 3

Mix & Match tops & bottoms

As important as it is to have different shirt options (button down short or long sleeves, polos, t-shirts or henleys. Bring different bottom options as well. This will give you a lot of variety in your final gallery. Alternate jeans, dark & light, shorts, khakis, or chinos.

Tip #4

Don't forget to plan your shoes!

Shoes can make or break your outfit. Leather shoes, casual sneakers, sandals, canvas shoes are all great options for photos. If tennis shoes are your style, that’s great too, just make sure they’re clean and go with your outfit choice.

Other Considerations

Senior sessions are in full swing right now! Summer and early fall are a great time to have your session done. The colors are beautiful and there's a lot of location options this time of year.

Most schools need yearbook photos by mid October, so make sure you're booking with a photographer before that point and know what their turn around time is.
